Mission
The South Kingstown Union Fire District aims to prevent, prepare for, respond to and abate emergencies to protect the citizens of the town of South Kingstown. We recognize that volunteers are the key to our success and we commit to recruiting, training, and maintaining a force of volunteers to safeguard the lives and property of town residents through exceptional service and leadership. Safety is our highest priority as we protect people from fires and their adverse effects, emergencies, and exposure to other dangerous conditions through a variety of safety and specialized services.

Vision
Committed to maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for all residents of South Kingstown with volunteers from each village within the town, we dedicate ourselves to delivering the highest level of service and response to emergencies to each neighborhood in the community. By fostering an ongoing partnership with the Town of South Kingstown, we aim to recruit, train, and maintain a predominantly volunteer firefighting and emergency response force that can save lives, protect property, and act proactively to promote compliance and safety measures throughout the Town. To achieve our highest potential, we will create a positive work environment through proper training, public education, code enforcement, and effective internal relationships.

Our organization stresses attainable goals, achieved through shared responsibility and accountability. We commit to nurturing these relationships with respect, integrity, dedication, and commitment. Our organization will continue to strive to keep our responders safe at all times. Promoting a “Safety Always” attitude will help us accomplish our goals. Safety is paramount and is consistently at the forefront of ALL Union Fire District events.

Our future depends on our environment of shared leadership, volunteerism, organizational empowerment, emergency preparedness, and responsiveness to the community’s needs.
